Winter Wonders: a frosty maternity session

I had SO much fun on this session.

Katy and Dave share my love of both sci-fi and really bad puns so from our planning session onwards, there was a lot of giggling in the room.

At this time of year, we can take advantage of the slower mornings and my photography sessions can start as late as 10am.  At 33 weeks pregnant, I thought Katy would enjoy a less rushed morning but both she and Dave were keen to be up for the morning sun (8am).  And oh, what a morning it was.

Perfectly clear and crisp, with frost underfoot and beautiful sunlight streaming across fields in Bushey. It’s where they go for walks on the weekends and there’s a lovely playground just waiting for their new member of the family in the Summer.

We took things slowly, following the light around the field, taking time to chat to the smallest one as they wriggled awake. There was impromptu dancing and half time refreshments.

I felt really honoured to be asked to take their maternity images. I knew what a long road it had been to bring them here, and it was really very special to share these moments as they stepped into their future together.

If you’re pregnant and you like to capture these moments of emotion and change, get in touch and we can schedule in your session and go and hang out somewhere that you love.
