… cloudy. Oh well. That’d be because we live in England, not South Carolina.
I took a big brother and a small sister out to play in the fields in Middlesex this time.
Issac is nearly 5, and like my son, on the verge of starting school. He’s inquisitive and darted ahead to explore while his little sister Polly toddled valiantly behind. He zigzagged back again and paused just long enough to show us the mischief in his eyes before heading off again. The world is waiting for him to discover it.
“And though she be but little, she is fierce”
Ah but don’t believe it, little Polly is not Hermia. She’s just a perfect 2 year old with keen eye for a biscuit and a determination to meet the horse at the end of the lane.
She just loves to be with her big brother when he walks slowly enough to steady her along, and the best bit is that he’s as happy to do the same.
This is how I love my photo sessions to be. I plan one session a day and we don’t rush. We have time enough to get to know each other, and time to enjoy our surroundings. We take a walk, we get to explore and pay attention to the important things in the world. We forget about the camera and relax, and then while we’re doing all this, we get the most beautiful and natural images. And maybe even get to meet a horse.
Who needs sunshine with this lighting up the day?
