Fresh food for life

Now that it feels like we’re starting to leave the winter behind us, I’m finally ready to go back to fresh food & to cook something other than pies and pasta bakes.  As much as I love our Saturday lunches of soup & crusty bread, I’m craving brightness, fresh foods and colours.   I’m going back through my Ottolenghi & Nigel Slater books and I was reminded of the gorgeous things that Julianna Alexander of Nutriisight made for our photo sessions last year.

Fennel, halloumi and pomegranate with dill is just what I want to eat now with tiny slices of raw, crunchy fennel balanced with the warm, salty cheese that we need because it’s still pretty chilly when the sun goes in.

I might just start small though. A bit more broccoli and a huge plate of sliced oranges. Can’t resist them.
